What time of the day did you snap this -- I'm curious only because it's empty, which can be unusual for a Central Park bench in the summer :)

Well, very poignant. Usually, benches are lined with people. Maybe all the people are walking or running. We need one person to sit on the bench to feed the birds.

It was midmorning, TheBookGirl. It was midmorning on a weekday. Maybe it gets busier in the afternoon or on the weekends!
I did run across a lovely scene of people sitting on a bench feeding the pigeons in another part of the park.
Plenty of room for a nice lunch break and a good book.
